1 shocking news was told to me at the meeting just now.
auntie julie (remember her? the wife of uncle thomas whom have passed away few months ago) have been engaged with another uncle albert (whom i only know him for like 1 year +?)
engaged u noe, engaged. honestly though i did clap when she announced it during the rosary group meeting, in my heart i really am not happy about it. yes its her life i know but i feel its still very early for her to marry another man while we still remembers uncle thomas so deeply. talk about 50years of marriage.
i find that our group is having lesser and lesser members. uncle christopher gan is diagnosed with cancer (pls pray for him) and could not help in transporting ppl to pray.
our group works like this - every week we will go to different volunteery parishioner's house and pray the rosary. 1 week twice (used to be 7 days) and often transportation is needed for ppl without vehicles and wan to go pray. so uncle gan often volunteers is driving ppl to and fro to the different houses around in the jurong area
being lack of members is 1 problem while having no transportation for the current members is another. which i suddenly have the realisation that "hey! im learning driving! maybe that is wat my skill will be used for!"
that really made me felt abit happier about being a driver. maybe it will only happen when im able to afford a vehicle. im seriously the youngest member in the group with the next youngest at at least 40 and above. uncle koh even plan to pass the baton to me next time..
but for now, i believe while im rotting in camp, i should tink of ways to get ppl to join our group. this is very difficult as prayers are volunteery and is cutting a piece out of ure own free time.
my target age group will probably be the 20s to middle-age ppl where they have transport or a house where we can gather to pray. i believe this recruitment is important if we wan to continue the work of uncle thomas who is the founder of this prayer group.
anyway the year 2007 will soon be over and a new 08 will be coming. i wanna thank all the friends who have been reading my blog and giving me much appreciated advices!
